In a significant development for the logistics sector, Saudi Arabia’s Jazan region is set to benefit from enhanced operational management and air freight services following a strategic agreement between SAL Logistics Services Co. and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. This collaboration aims to integrate various modes of transportation and connect Jazan City with both air and sea ports, thereby creating a more efficient logistics network to support the region’s industrial expansion.
The agreement aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes economic diversification and infrastructure development to foster sustainable industrial growth. Faisal Al-Bedah, Managing Director and CEO of SAL, highlighted that this partnership is a critical step towards bolstering the Kingdom’s logistics infrastructure. Al-Bedah noted, “This cooperation agreement represents a promising step in our mission to enhance the logistics infrastructure in the Kingdom,” and added that working with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu will not only improve their services but also contribute to the broader economic development of Jazan.
The enhanced logistics framework is expected to attract new investments, invigorating the region’s economic vitality. The agreement features customized logistics services designed for current and prospective investors in Jazan City Port Basic and Transformative Industries. It aims to facilitate the exchange of commercial information and enhance industrial and logistical capabilities, ensuring better integration of Jazan’s hubs with national and international markets.
Furthermore, the partnership emphasizes improving land transportation connections between Jazan’s terminals, major airports, and key ports, thereby boosting the efficiency of export and import operations. This development follows SAL’s recent initiatives, including a contract with Air China for comprehensive air cargo handling services and a memorandum of understanding with Tarshid Energy Solutions to enhance energy efficiency across its Saudi operations, supporting the sustainability objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
